Gracias is 100% original. This album has ten songs, eight of which were written by Verny, and seven were arranged by him. Other arrangers are, Andrés Viafara on Fuiste tú and Ricardo Sabogal on Yo soy latino. Jorge Kini Murillo composed Fuiste tú . Erick Garland (Gringo Loco) translated the songs Pal mundo and Yo soy latino into French, Japanese and English. Piero Spada did the Italian translation. Pal mundo is a salsa tune sung in five different languages (Spanish, Italian, English, French, Japanese). That makes Pal mundo a song that many in the world can enjoy by listening to or dancing to this melody.
This album was recorded in Cali, Colombia, by some of the best salsero musicians in the city. Currulao, a rhythm from the pacific coast of Colombia is also included. In conclusion, one can hear a touch of some of the earlier days of salsa in the flute passages that Verny plays on some of tunes.
